This week I took everyone through a series of charts and graphs I had collected
from various sources, most of which showed the mind-boggling extent of federal
government borrowing and monetization of new credit by the Fed, etc. Altogether,
they paint a pretty scary picture of our financial future. Our book of the week
was 'Conquer The Crash' by Robert Prechter, Jr., written in 2002, in
which the author almost precisely foretold the recent credit crisis and emerging
depression, largely based on Elliot Wave theory of which he is perhaps the
leading proponent. If history is any guide, we're in for a protracted period of
declining growth; it may be 2016 or later before the economy begins to grow
again.
Our discussion topics for this week were: 1) Will the Treasury Dept's $1
trillion public-private plan to buy banks' bad debt really work? If not, why
not? How will the middle class be affected? 2) Is FDIC protection really safe?
Or does it actually stand for 'Feds Dubiously Instilling Confidence'? After we
got through beating that topic up we turned to something lighter and less
foreboding: 3) "The Death of the Dollar" by William Rickenbacker, this
week's featured book, and a most unusual one at that. Listen and find out why!
We discuss Bill Bonner's book "Mobs, Messiahs and Markets.' We then
discuss the potential for an explosion in the price of silver when the Federal
Reserve Note finally crumbles. We take a look at failed currencies throughout
history and read from a recent issue of silver analyst Ted Butler's latest
thoughts on the coming big move in silver.
We discuss G. Gordon Liddy's book "When I was a Kid this was a FREE Country,'
we then debate the issue 'What if Obama's economic stimulus plan does not
work?' Lastly, we review the week's financial reality news.
We discuss the book 'The Creature from Jekyll Island', the increased
practice of 'mortgage-squatting' by homeowners facing foreclosure, the
'Abolish the Fed' movement and a review the week's financial reality news.
With commerce grinding down, unemployment shooting up, real estate sagging
further and corporate earnings falling off a cliff Gordon makes his predictions
for 2009.
Impending bank failures; FDIC coverage; drawing trend lines.

the economy - enjoy.

Gold vs. the Dollar We should all expect a further decline in the dollar and a
continuing surge in commodities such as gold, silver,
platinum, palladium and rhodium which many analysts expect to continually rise for at
least four more years, perhaps as long as another decade or more.
Fed Alert! There's a great deal of
deeply educational, profoundly important, well hidden and therefore,
potentially troubling material on this page. If the true nature
of our magical money system is unfamiliar to you, the videos on this
page may leave you speechless.
Meet David Walker David Walker is the former Controller General
of the U.S., America's top accountant. He's on a mission to warn us that we're heading for some serious trouble if the deficit
isn't quickly brought under control. My analysis? The deficit
will NOT be brought under control - it will only get out of
control.
